Councillors' learning visit on sustainable Land Management
Looking at soil and water conservation measures on mountainous grid, tree planting, putting contours, and hedge rows and permanent basins, were core among others.

The district sector Councillors of  Works, Production  and Natural Reources of mbale Dlg visited the Sisiyi multipurpose coopetative society farmers in Bulambuli district to  look at different projects under  land restoration program.

The intergrated land scape management project has improved soil management in various places where project is visible with environmental conservation measures on exhibit.
Nadira Godfrey, the extension officer for Sisiyi and Simu subcounties in bulambuli district stressed that 11 parishes in the two sub counties are beneficiary to the program.
He says, the affecting element now is heavy rains which continously disruptes some technilogies that is to say trenches , permanent basins and malching.

"Our expections are interact with mbake team on how best yiu effectively use affordable technologies by farmers" He said!
Nakayenze Annah, the Principal natural resource officer, Mbale district local govetnment upon her visit, related the tour on harmonising  technological strides for better sustainable results on soil managment and yeilds.

 The day's visit focused on coffee tree yields, Bananas and cassava varieties as crops yielding after sustainable practices on effect.
Hon. Muyama Esther Massete, for Bungokho subcounty upon the visit said, there is hope for farmers to continue with coffee farming  amidst government interests on improving agririan activities and coffee banana system in particular.
