MBALE DISTRICT ADVOCACY, EQUITY FOR ALL!
Mbale district together with stakeholders, state and non state actors, councilors and implementing partners convened today Wednesday October in the district lukhobo hall to amplify their wish as a routine seating for transparent leadership on equity representation. Over 30 district councilors and other invited guests attended a one day workshop organized by the district water office, Mbale District local government. The training was aimed at establishing service points on community needs assessment in areas of water supply and sanitation, provision of capacity development and other support services to Local Governments, most especially in the 14 subcounties and 3 town Councils. Several Subcounties in the district have vibrate water points each financial year, this year the district is expected to implement a number of projects in various sub counties.
Hon. Kakai Oliver from Nabumali Town Council for people with disabilities says the meeting brings open transparency as leaders to reflect how resources are mobilized and shared to achieve excellent services in the district.
During the meeting, Deputy CAO Chepteok Juliet Pointed out the relevance of the training to the district leadership as a platform to re-engage with the district technical support staff, State and non state Actors and implementing partners for continuing service delivery. The grants in the previous years have been utilized well in building water reserve plants, supplying different areas with catchment areas of bubyangu, Bufumbo and Jewa Town Council.
The gravity water flow scheme attracts the funding from MWE with the necessity of safe water, safe lives for sustainable living. Nakawala Naume, the deputy RDC Mbale District encouraged the water officer to take the matter of vandalism seriously because it affects the supply to the Wanachi, we need the mindset change on our communities about the costs sunk in such projects by our implementing partners.
She called upon transparency and patriotism to uphold sanity in societies we represent.
Nakawala appealed to politicians to get involved in every development benefiting the Wanachi.
