INDEPENDENCE @62, MBALE DISTRICT TRACKS ON ACHIEVEMENTS!

Mbale District local government celebrates 62 years of independence reflecting on the achievements across all interventions.

The district started in 1950 as Bugisu /Bukedi district. In 1960 before independence in 1962, Bukedi became an independent district. Bugisu district composed of Bugisu area and Sebei. In 1966, sebei district was granted following tribal clashes between the Bamasaaba tribe and the Sabiny tribe.

 Apparently, several districts have emerged from the original Mbale. On the east, Sironko, Bulambuli, Kapchorwa, kween-Bukwo and on the west, Manafwa, Bududa, Namisidwa, in total over six districts have been created after the original mbale district.
Mbale municipality was granted city status annexing some of the lower local government and urban areas as an independent administrative unit. It stands out to boost the regional industrial corridor for the national tax income base.
Newly Constructed HC III AT KAMA
Mbale District local government has steadily improved in areas of health with 27 facilities at all levels that is HCII, HC III AND HC IV consolidating each Subcounty with a health unit, education with 86 government aided schools for both primary, secondary and tertiaries,
 production, trade and industry forming a vibrate house income economy paced up with government funding under PDM, Emyooga and now Grow, road network with few challenges due to limited funding has also improved with 69.9% in the last financial with whileBumakila-Wapewo boarder in bubyangu Subcounty under way and Boarder Bukingala in Budwale Subcounty being worked on, communty based services has built a social economic attachment towards the last Mile persons at family levels. 

This department is mandated to deliver community level actions to reduce poverty through promotion of employment, equity, adult literacy and community among others.
The Green Hill Of Jewa Town Council
Jewa town council holds this year's celebration for the second time with its contributions mainly in agriculture cutting across bubyangu, bufumbo, wanale and budwale Subcounties as leading entities towards agricultural practices for commercial grid. Besides, bubyangu is a leading coffee producer across the entire district, since it is a backbone of the Bamasaba people in terms of income generating perennials.
Bungokho North constituency contributes a lot towards food supplies to the region and has continuously improved the lives and health of the people in the region and beyond Bugisu boundaries.

And relating more on community perspective, the opinions gathered were diversional bringing our focus on areas that government has not done quite well.
Bubyangu, Mbale District 
The guest of honor for today's celebration is Wopuwa George William the district RDC for Mbale District local government.
Mugombera Asian, a farmer in bubyangu Subcounty, evidently said that,the government has taught them to farm and do business in the modern age. "Our children benefit directly from agriculture since most of the farming is commercial".
 Mugombera added that much as the government has worked well on modern farming, more emphasis should zero on water supply in bubyangu and the boundaries since most of the graft water is hosted in the Subcounty.
The Mayor Nabumali Town Council
Kutoi Moses the Mayor of nabumali town said that the achievements are beyond measures from the past regimes, "currently our Subcounties are not well supported and my appeal to the government is to give more funding on prioritized projects that come directly to the communities".
