SECTOR COUNCILLORS ON SUSTAINABLE LAND MANAGEMENT!

Councillors' learning visit on sustainable Land Management Looking at soil and water conservation measures on mountainous grid, tree planting, putting contours, and hedge rows and permanent basins, were core among others. The district sector Councillors of  Works, Production  and Natural Reources of mbale Dlg visited the Sisiyi multipurpose coopetative society farmers in Bulambuli district to  look at different projects under  land restoration program. The intergrated land scape management project has improved soil management in various places where project is visible with environmental conservation measures on exhibit. Nadira Godfrey, the extension officer for Sisiyi and Simu subcounties in bulambuli district stressed that 11 parishes in the two sub counties are beneficiary to the program. Participants in attendance during advocacy  Mbale district together with stakeholders, state and non state actors, councilors and implementing partners convened today Wednesday October in the district lukhobo hall to amplify their wish as a routine seating for transparent leadership on equity representation. Over 30 district councilors  and other invited guests attended a one day workshop organized by the district water office, Mbale District local government. The training was aimed at establishing service points on community needs assessment in areas of water supply and sanitation, provision of capacity development and other support services to Local Governments, most especially in the 14 subcounties and 3 town Councils. Several Subcounties in the district have vibrate water points each financial year, this year the district is expected to implement a number of projects in various sub counties. Hon. LAST SHOT AS VERIFICATION EXERCISE COMES TO AN END

Bungokho North constituency  Mbale District. School Environment In Hard To Reach Areas After a hectic schedule for schools' verification exercise, yesterday Monday marked the last day with 84 schools done out of 86. Kilayi and Bunabwire primary schools to be considered on a special audit due to impassible roads. Watasa Mayoka, the principal Internal auditor for Mbale district said his team can't access the remaining schools due to bad weather leading to impassable roads to the two schools.  The challenges noted while the exercise was under way, really brings a lot of attention to the learning institutions with an Infrastructural approach. The schools' enrollments in several schools are convincingly accurate though they were slite drops in some areas.
