International Albinism Awareness Day seeks to amplify the voices and visibility of persons with albinism in all areas of life.   Press release @ St. Andrews Cathedral  As the eastern region Albinism cluster prepares to hold its celebrations on 27th next week, this year's theme highlights the urgent need to prevent skin cancer in persons with albinism through awareness, screenings, and sunscreen access. The risk of skin cancer is extremely high for persons with albinism, and the lack of access to sunscreen, protective gear, as well as skin cancer screening and treatment can lead to foreseeable, yet preventable deaths.   The Eastern region executive director for people with albinism, Negesa Elizabeth registered the achievements as an indicator of a transformative path towards better and sustainable living!
